The Girard Point Management Area consisted of a former landfill that has been capped. One portion of the landfill has a vegetated permeable soil cap, while the other has an impermeable asphalt cap. Inspections performed in spring 2013 identified many of the gabion mattresses along the southern shoreline have separated and experienced damage due to apparent lateral and vertical movements that may still be on-going.

As the prime contractor, Sevenson installed 578 LF of sheet pile, utilizing 126 NZ-42 sheets. We also placed 3,500 tons of crushed stone and 1,257 tons of rip rap as backfill behind the sheet pile wall, covering 59 tie rods, compression piles, and tension piles.
