MAECTITE™ chemical treatment is a treatment process to reduce leachability of lead and heavy metals
The MAECTITE™ chemical process fixates heavy metals into a lower solubility form, making them resistant to environmental degradation. It chemically bonds leachable metal species into hardened mineral forms, primarily phosphate minerals like apatite.
The design/build process provides an opportunity for design engineers and Sevenson to work together to maximize value and innovation on projects
Today, both industry and government increasingly prefer approaches that streamline planning and execution. Design/build is one such approach, where the engineer and contractor work as a team to deliver a completed project.
Performing state-of-the-art biological, solidification/stabilization, and dewatering treatability studies
Since 1989, Sevenson has conducted in-house treatability studies at our advanced environmental lab. With expertise in hazardous waste remediation, our lab staff develops new treatment techniques and evaluates proposed methods, focusing on three key areas: heavy metal treatment and stabilization (including our patented MAECTITE™ process), soil stabilization through geotechnical studies, and dewatering treatability across various technologies.
The most important decisions affecting the cost and schedule of a remedial action project are made during the preliminary phases
With decades of project experience, Sevenson offers reliable constructability review services to help clients make informed decisions during the early phases of remedial construction and environmental dredging projects. These critical decisions often lack input from those experienced in the practical aspects of the work, leading to inefficiencies, costly change orders, and schedule delays during design and implementation.
Sevenson ensures precision in environmental dredging, excavation, and in-situ stabilization (ISS) projects by utilizing advanced positioning systems from Trimble Marine Construction and Hypack. These systems combine inclinometers, software, and dual RTK GNSS antennas to accurately position dredge buckets, cutter heads, or augers, with Trimble base stations providing real-time GPS corrections. Our systems track pre-dredging surfaces, target prisms, and provide operators with detailed views of the dredge cut, ensuring efficient operation. With over $3M invested in hardware, software, and controls, Sevenson operates 55+ pieces of equipment nationwide, supported by five full-time GPS technicians.
For hydraulic dredging, we use RTK GNSS to track trunnion pin positions in tidal environments with tight tolerances down to 2 inches. For mechanical dredging and excavation, we employ GPS or UTS positioning systems, offering flexibility and precise tracking of various tools like clam shell buckets and grapples. Our rugged systems provide real-time information, surface tracking, and multiple views to complete complex designs. In ISS, we use GPS positioning with angle sensors on drill rigs to ensure accurate auger alignment and depth control, ensuring quality and efficiency in every project.
Since 1998, Sevenson Industrial Services (SIS) has specialized in all phases of industrial cleaning and plant maintenance. We provide high-quality, efficient hazardous and non-hazardous cleaning and decontamination services, backed by experienced project management teams who ensure safe and compliant execution. SIS’s services include state-of-the-art wet/dry vacuum truck services, tank cleaning and decommissioning, vessel cleaning (including confined space), high-pressure water blasting, sanitary and storm sewer cleaning, water treatment plant maintenance, and environmental remediation.
